Earlier this month, Greendale Group proudly sponsored the award for Volunteer of the Year at the Torbay Community Champion Awards.

The 2026 Torbay Community Awards hosted their special award ceremony on Friday 2nd October, where volunteers and community workers from across the bay were celebrated and thanked for their contributions to the local community.

The awards ceremony was held at the Bay Church in Paignton, where more than 150 people packed into the church hall to celebrate the people who give and bring so much to the local community for little or no reward or recognition.

At the event, Paul James, Group Property Director for Greendale Group, had the pleasure of presenting the winner, Beth Huntley, with the prestigious award.

As joint deputy chair of the Wellswood Community Partnership and Bike Mayor for Torbay, Beth has campaigned to improve road safety and local cycling infrastructure in the community as well as organsising the ‘Wellswood in Bloom’ competition and led an improvement project for Wellswood Green.

We were pleased to be involved in such a fantastic event, celebrating the incredible people supporting their local community.
