Catch Bluefin Tuna is part of the Waterdance group of businesses, offering deep-sea fishing tours targeting Atlantic bluefin tuna. Departing from different ports on the UK south coast, the business operates a purpose-built, fully equipped boat, the Eloise of Ladram; her experienced skipper and crew provide tailored big-game angling and leisure charters to suit customers’ exact requirements. While the main target species is giant Atlantic bluefin tuna, bass fishing, general angling and hook-and-cook trips are also on offer, as well as sightseeing tours, paddleboarding, ocean swimming and secret beach picnics.

Sustainability

Catch Bluefin Tuna’s specially equipped vessel, Eloise, is part of the first ever licensed recreational catch and release fishery in the UK. Tuna fishing in the UK is highly regulated by DEFRA, CEFAS and the MMO on behalf of the UK government; to date, the Eloise has participated in two scientific studies; the CEFAS operated CHART (Catch and Release Tagging), and Thunnus UK, a more in-depth, long-term Exeter University project,

Expertise

The Eloise’s skipper and crew have more than 30 years’ collective experience of operating commercial, charter and private angling vessels, not only in the UK but across the Atlantic, pursuing a wide range of marlin and tuna species.

Equipment

Fishing for giant bluefin tuna requires the strongest tackle and the highest-quality rods, reels and lines. The Eloise is fitted with a full set of US-built Rupp Tournament Pro outriggers and equipped with some of the finest rods and reels available.
