Exmouth Marina is a thriving, independent marina offering pontoon berths, casual and visitor berthing, and berthing for commercial craft. Enjoying a sheltered position in the north-west corner of Lyme Bay, near the mouth of the River Exe, the Marina affords boat owners and keen sailors access to the world-famous Jurassic Coast and the Exe estuary, for superb sailing all year round. Exmouth Marina is open seven days a week, and the office is manned year-round. The team prides itself on providing an efficient, friendly service; berth holders and visitors alike can access first-class facilities, including secure entry, fresh water and metered electricity on the pontoons, toilet and shower facilities, refuse disposal and use of the Marina carpark (restrictions apply). Diesel fuel and boat gas are also available to purchase.

Environmental

The Exe Estuary is an important wildlife site, protected as an SSSI and SPA. Exmouth Marina takes its environmental responsibilities seriously; as well as providing guidance to help boat owners avoid wildlife refuges, stick to designated areas for power-boating and water-skiing, and observe local speed limits, it also offers recycling for waste oil, anti-fouling and batteries, plus refuse disposal for berth holders and visitors.

History

Exmouth Marina grew from Exmouth docks, built in the 1860s to improve the town’s shipping facilities. Operated by the Devon Dock, Pier and Steamship Company, the dock served Exmouth for more than a century, with its own railway and a busy dockside community.

Expertise

Exmouth Marina office is staffed seven days a week by a friendly, dedicated team. The Harbour Master is based at Exmouth Marina, where he oversees operations and keeps everything running smoothly. He knows these waters inside out, having worked in the local marine industry for 35 years, from teaching sailing and powerboating for the marines to working at Trout’s boatyard in Topsham.
