Every 12 months, Greendale Group’s Charitable Giving Committee selects charities to help, under our ‘Charitable Giving’ scheme. We then work with the chosen charities throughout the next year to provide support including – but not limited to – making donations, participating in fundraising activities, providing equipment or other support, and volunteering. Organisations eligible for the Greendale Group Charitable Giving scheme include charities, schools and relevant local community groups. If you are involved with an eligible organisation and would like it to be considered for the scheme, please get in touch.

Farms for City Children

Farms for City Children offers immersive farm residential stays for children and young people. They believe that every young person, regardless of background, deserves an opportunity to take home the wealth of benefits gained from being farmers for a week. While staying at the charity’s Devon farm at Nethercott House, near Okehampton on Dartmoor, the children get involved with birdwatching, biodiversity walks and beekeeping, as well as taking care of the cattle and sheep.

How we are helping; donations, raising awareness, events, volunteering.

We selected FFCC because we felt the charity aligns well with our core values and farming heritage, and we’re in support of encouraging the continuation of traditional skills and land management methods for generations to come.

RNLI – Royal National Lifeboat Institution

The RNLI is an organisation close to our hearts – as owners of a fishing fleet (and therefore fully aware of the risks involved in working at sea), we hold this incredible charity in high regard. Crewed entirely by volunteers – some of whom are Greendale colleagues, we’re proud to say – RNLI lifeboats are ready to launch around the UK coastline, 24 hours a day. In addition, the charity provides lifeguards at the coast every summer; trains water safety teams to share advice with people of all ages to help keep them safe; and also manages international teams working with communities most at risk from drowning, sharing expertise and advice on how to stay safe.

How we are helping; donations, raising awareness, events, volunteering.

As a group, we’re delighted to support the RNLI knowing our colleagues at sea have help close by should they ever need it.
