Nigel Completes RideLondon Challenge Raising Money for Seafarers UK

In August, Nigel Blazeby, Managing Director of Waterdance, took part in Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 challenge. He was part of a team of mariners raising money for Seafarers UK, a Greendale/Waterdance appointed charity. The Prudential RideLondon is the world's greatest festival of cycling, an incredible and unique 100-mile challenge which takes place on closed roads through the Capital and Surrey.

This was a new challenge for Nigel, as previously he had not cycled more than 40 miles. He was delighted to be able to raise £1,200 for Seafarers UK through his own donation and sponsorship from others, together with match-funding from Waterdance. Nigel stated, “Seafarers UK do a great deal for UK fishermen, and I am passionate about the fishing industry and supporting those working within it.” Asked whether he enjoyed the cycling, Nigel’s response was, “Absolutely, knackering! But so worth the effort. Got to see a great city on a bike with streets with no cars! The Surrey hills were killers. But that adds to the challenge.”
